WAX AND POLISH

Karlsson-Collins currently sources its core product range from the following polish and wax manufacturers; Swissvax, Raceglaze, Duragloss and our own Karlsson cream polish.

The following is an overview of our current favourite offerings, all of which have a place and purpose in the work we complete for our clients.

Swissvax:

For serious car enthusiasts, provides wax protection matched to the paint type and finish of your car to achieve the desired result - a long lasting deep shine. At Karlsson-Collins we believe that if you have made a substantial investment in your car then this is the brand of wax for you. Swissvax (formerly Swissol) have been formulating waxes since 1930, and have developed a comprehensive range to suit every type of vehicle. Specialised blends are available for Italian vehicles such as Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia and Lamborghini, while the prestige german manufacturers also have their very own speciality wax.

Karlsson-Collins always has the following Swissvax waxes in stock:

Saphir - Increased protection for all paint finishes, 40% Carnauba giving a deep long lasting shine. Provides protection for 2-3 months. Saphir contains a much higher concentration of ultrapure Brazilian grade one carnauba wax (over 40% by volume), and is also an excellent choice for modern water based paints. We believe that if you have not experienced the results that are possible from premium swiss waxes you will be amazed at the depth of shine that Saphir will give your car.

Scuderia - Scuderia contains a 40% by volume concentration of ultrapure Brazilian grade one carnauba wax. This premium wax is matched to the particular requirements of soft Italian paint on cars like Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati, Lancia and Lamborghini. We always recommend it for these cars over Saphir. A personal favourite and one proven to give spectacular results on italian cars.

Zuffenhausen - The recommended choice for all German cars such as Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Audi produced since 1980, optimised for their two-component coatings. Contains 40% ultrapure Brazilian grade one carnauba wax for a deep, long lasting shine (typically up to 3 months between applications) to protect and nourish your paint. If you have a German prestige vehicle we believe this is the wax for you.

Best of show - The next step up from Saphir and the specialist waxes, 51% yellow and white Carnauba, so will last longer, shine deeper. Enriched with coconut and cinnamon oil extracts and containing 48% by volume ultra pure Brazilian white and yellow carnauba wax, Best of Show wax gives your paintwork a lustre ordinarily encountered only on prize-winning classics. Our premium offering and when it comes to prestige wax for prestige cars this is the one for your car! Karlsson-Collins apply Best of show using a layering technique that produces a reflection and depth of shine that will truly enhance the presence of your prestige or sports car.

Raceglaze

You may not have heard of Race Glaze, as they have always been a small company, with excellent products continually purchased by existing long standing customers, people referred by them, and others that Raceglaze staff meet at shows, demonstrations and who trust Raceglaze because of their reputation in the automotive businesses.

Karlsson-Collins currently stock Crem perfection, a natural Carnauba wax polish - no watery/chalky marks, fills in swirls and scratches in a gentle liquid cleaning formula and gives a fantastic deep shine. No white residues, dust or marks on plastic trim. When applied by Karlsson-Collins the protection and shine offered by Crem perfection normally lasts for up to 3 months. We really like this polish/wax and find it can be used to excellent effect when combined with Duragloss products as well as a stand alone finishing product in its own right. Crem perfection is our recommended finishing polish for those car owners that wish to maintain their cars betwen Karlsson-Collins treatments.

Duragloss

The Duragloss range of products are sourced from the USA. Duragloss is made by Brothers Research Corp who were founded in 1975 by Dr. William Bailey and his brother, Jerry to begin marketing a new automotive appearance product.

Because of their dissatisfaction with the products being offered at the time, these two car enthusiasts (and chemists) began in 1973 formulating their own automotive polish. The only products available then were difficult to use, left a heavy chalk residue, were not very durable, and gave only moderate results in shine.

After two years research and approximately one hundred trial formulations, all the above discrepencies were overcome. This revolutionary polish went on easily as a semi-transparent film, was just as easily removed, and created a brilliant, durable gloss that would last up to a year. Karlsson-Collins have extensively tested Duragloss products and fully endorse these products in respect of the results achieved on customers cars. We currently stock the following Duragloss products.

Duragloss "polish and cleaner", contains synthetic polymers, which form a protective coating on the surface of painted vehicles. Durable to both acid and alkaline washes. Duragloss polish and cleaner provides a "wet look" shine and protective coating which is particularly suited to exotic Japanese vehicles.

Duragloss CCP (Clear Coat Polish) is a non-abrasive synthetic formula, which gives a "wet look" shine and durable protective coating. Durable to both acid and alkaline washes. Duragloss CCP provides a very high gloss finish which is particularly suitable for performance cars used on an everyday basis.

Duragloss Total Protection Polish, Synthetic Polymer/Wax Formula. Super-tough coating forms a protective barrier which protect against acid rain, tree sap, bird droppings and other environmental pollutants. Total Protection Polish provides an extra depth of gloss when used in conjunction with either of our other two Duragloss polishes.
